When an outage occurs, you can be sure that our team is ready and prepared to respond, restoring power to all customers as soon as it is possible to do so safely.
Our Outage Management System (OMS) instantly notifies our team when an issue is detected, allowing us to fix issues before they cause outages or to begin working towards restoration as quickly as possible when outages do occur. This system integrates with other smart grid technologies such as our SCADA and FLISR systems to automatically isolate problem areas during an outage and redirect power immediately to as many customers as possible.
At Oshawa Power, we are dedicated to keeping both our customers and employees safe at all times. We are proud to offer continuous safety communications and training to both our customers and workforce.
Through our social media channels, participating in community events, and by developing safety surveys and programs to help increase electricity safety knowledge for Oshawa residents, we aim to ensure our customers have the knowledge they need to remain safe around electrical infrastructure at home and across our city.

As an Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) CORTM certified organization, we are held to some of the highest safety standards in Canada. Achieving CORTM means that we demonstrate our health and safety management system has been developed, implemented, and evaluated on an annual basis through comprehensive internal and external audits.
Regulation 22/04 ensures that electrical safety, and the excellent safety record of the electrical distribution industry, will be maintained in the de-regulated electricity market. Oshawa Power is audited on an annual basis to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
