Oshawa Power is proud to partner with Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator to promote Save on Energy programs to our customers.
The Business Retrofit Program helps cover the cost of energy-efficient upgrades for commercial, institutional, and industrial customers, from a single lighting swap to a full building retrofit.

Solar power is one of the fastest-growing upgrades in the Business Retrofit Program. If you own your roof and have the right conditions, solar incentives can offset a meaningful share of your project cost.
Solar projects go through a short technical assessment so we can confirm your roof, system size, and site conditions before we calculate your incentive.

Upgrades eligible for an incentive

Two ways to qualify
Find the incentive path that fits
Every project is a little different, so the program offers two paths to an incentive.
Set incentive amounts
For common, well-defined upgrades like lighting, controls, and standard HVAC equipment. Incentive amounts are set in advance, so you know what to expect before you apply.
Best for: single-building projects using equipment already on our standard list.
Calculated from your savings
For larger or more complex projects, including multi-measure retrofits, industrial process upgrades, and equipment not on the standard list. Your incentive is calculated from your project's measured energy savings.
Best for: multi-building portfolios, industrial processes, and custom engineering projects.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a cost to apply?
No. Filling out the form, booking a free energy assessment, and getting your incentive offer are all at no cost, with no obligation to move forward.
How long does the process take?
Most businesses hear back from an energy advisor within a few business days of submitting the form. Timelines after that depend on the size and complexity of your project.
What if I lease my building?
You can still qualify. Some upgrades may need written consent from your landlord before work begins. Your energy advisor will walk you through what's needed.
Do I need a contractor lined up already?
Not necessarily. Some upgrades require a qualified contractor to complete the installation, and your energy advisor can point you in the right direction if you don't have one yet.
What businesses are eligible?
Most commercial, institutional, and industrial customers within Oshawa Power's service territory can apply. Fill out the form and we'll confirm your eligibility.
What if my business is outside Oshawa Power's territory?
Save on Energy programs are available through your local electric utility. We'll point you in the right direction if your business is served by a different utility.
